A Somerset tourist attraction that lets dog lovers spend time petting and playing with dozens of its golden retrievers will now let tourists stay overnight – after a TikTok video of the cute dogs went viral.
The Golden Retriever Experience, located in Minehead, Somerset, charges £60 for a two-hour session and lets dog lovers play, cuddle and feed the friendly retrievers, which also includes adorable puppies.
Longer stays, including six-hour sessions for £180 and all-night stays are now also available for those who simply can’t tear themselves away from the gorgeous golden-haired dogs.
Business has blown up after TikTok user Tilly Washer recommended people visit the centre after going there with her partner to mark their anniversary.
Her video, showing dozens of retrievers frolicking in the grass, has gone viral, reaching more than 4 million views on the video-based social media platform.
In the video, which Tilly dubbed ‘the best day ever’, the dogs are seen running and playing around in the field. They appear hugely receptive to cuddles and pats.
Envious dog lovers said they’d never leave the field if they made it there, and the company has said on their website that they are now experiencing ‘an exceptionally high amount of enquiries’ since re-opening to the public on April 12.
The dog-friendly centre opened ten years ago, and was founded by Nicolas Grant St-James, who wanted to invite people to ‘join our incredible pack of goldies for some much-needed doggy cuddles.’
The website adds that the dogs are ‘impeccably trained and endlessly affectionate,’ perfect for dog lovers who don’t own their own pets.
A basic two-hour long session will set adults back £60, seniors £50, and will cost £30 for children – but is free for children under two.
