Could This Be A Breakthrough? Golden Retriever Gets Radiotherapy For Cancer In Machine For Humans

Claude is a beautiful 9-year-old golden retriever boy living in London, England.

Unfortunately, Claude was diagnosed with a brain tumor back in 2018. His owners were completely devastated after hearing the terrible news, but not they finally have some hope again after their dog got special radiotherapy treatment in Edinburgh.

His owner Anita explained: “When we got his diagnosis, we were devastated. Fortunately, Edinburgh were willing to treat Claude with their new machine. It’s the only one of its type in veterinary use in the UK at the moment and the NHS has more than 100.”

Claude unfortunately isn’t out of the woods, but he is expected to get some extra time to run around the fields in Hadley, Hertfordshire.

His owner explained: “We’re just hoping that Claude gets more time to have fun meeting old and new friends, walks in new places and learning to live without his sight – which he lost due to the tumour.”

Claude’s vet revealed: “He has been an excellent patient. We are hopeful that we will at least stabilise the tumour for a few months, although it could potentially also shrink in size.”
