Have you ever wondered why your Golden retriever puts its paw on you, we have the answer!

All dog lovers know the moment when your beloved pup puts its paw on your knee or hand and looks at you like they want to say something. But have you ever wondered why they do it? Well, there are several reasons why your Golden Retriever might put its paw in your face, on your knee, or on top of your hand. And all of them confirm Golden Retrievers are the best dogs out there.

They want you to pet them

Dogs love attention and they also love it when you pet them. If you’re busy or working, you may notice your Golden Retriever will put its paw on your arm or leg. This often means they want some love.

They want something you have

If you’re holding one of your dog’s toys like their chewie or their favorite ball, they may paw at you until you give them what they want. They may also know where their toy is but can’t access it without your help.

They want to apologize

It’s true, sometimes your Golden will put its paw on you when they want to apologize for something. Maybe they growled at you or ripped up something in your home and feel the need to apologize.

They want to have what you’re eating

If you’re eating something, your Golden Retriever may put their paw on your arm or near your face to show they want what you’re eating. Or maybe they are just hungry and are communicating their needs in their own way.

It’s playtime

If your dog puts their paw on you it might also mean that they want to play with you! Maybe they’re bored or just need attention, so play with them, talk to them or lie down next to them.
