Getting urine stains out of carpet

Getting urine stains is definitely more difficult than getting fresh pee out of your carpet.

The first thing you need to do when finding out your dog had an accident is to get some liquid dishwashing detergent. This will be your tool to go!

However, before doing anything, you should first blot the urine with a clean paper towel (if it hasn’t dried).

Then, take one-quarter teaspoon of liquid dishwashing detergent and apply the mixture onto the stain. Use a cotton cloth or paper towels after the solution has set into the stain. Repeat as long as you’re seeing the urine stain gradually fade.

Your last step will be to mix two tablespoons of ammonia and a cup of water. Rinse and repeat until the stain has disappeared.

It’s best to remove dog pee right away, especially because of the smell. However, sometimes you won’t notice your dog had an accident until the pee is dried and there is an ugly stain on your carpet.

Use paper towels or cotton cloth to blot the urine, try to remove as much urine as possible from the carpet.

Then, get some white vinegar and water, mix it into a solution using 50% vinegar and 50% water. Pour the solution onto the urine stain.

After applying it to the stain wait a few moments and then using a scrubbing brush, work all of it deeply into the carpet, scrubbing vigorously. The vinegar should help to neutralize the ammonia in the urine. Again, blot the urine stain using a paper towel, pressing firmly into it.

To get your carpet perfectly clean ix one-half cup of three percent hydrogen peroxide with a teaspoon of dishwashing detergent and apply to the stain. Again, use the scrubbing brush again to thoroughly clean the carpet.

When your carpet is completely dry you can vacuum the area and you’re done!
