We have all been there. It’s late at night as your dog just starts sprinting around the house like there is no tomorrow.
You have no clue what is going on or how to stop it.
Each of the different reasons that your dog sprints around the house will likely come with a number of clues.
We are bringing you some possible reasons as to why your dog is acting like that.
If the reason your dog is sprinting is it’s diet, it is more likely to do it after being fed and if it started doing it more after you changed its diet.
Not enough exercise
The reason for the crazy sprinting could also be that your dog is not getting enough exercise. Generally, it is recommended for a dog to get around an hour of exercise per day. If your dog is not getting the recommended amount of exercise for its breed then it would help to make sure that it does.
Releasing excess energy
If your dog has some energy left by the end of the day it could start sprinting to release it. This is known as “zoomies” which is where it sprints around in order to get rid of the energy.
Releasing nervous energy
Another reason that it might be doing it is that it is releasing some nervous energy that it had built up. This would be more likely if it does it right after it has to be well behaved such as when guests leave.
If your dog is starting to sprint when you come back from work or form a trip – the most likely scenario is that it’s extremely excited you are finally back. Excitement fills them up with energy they then want to release.
