Or if you just want a cute, unusual bed for your pooch.
Of course, buying a dog teepee bed is an option, but why would you give up to 100 dollars for a good-quality teepee bed when you can make one!

DIY dog teepee bed
Do you remember how we said this DIY is going to be easy? And we meant it! Because this is a no-sew dog teepee bed DIY! Yep, no sewing, it doesn’t get any better than that.
This DIY project is by Coffeewithsummer.com, and it’s basically meant for a cat. However, it can of course be used for small dogs too! By getting a bigger piece of material, you can also make this bed for larger breeds too!

With that being said, let’s dive right in!
DIY project – All the steps
You’re going to need several items to make this dog bed:
- 5 Wooden Dowels (36-inch dowels were used, but you can get bigger ones)
- Jute Twine
- Drop Cloth/Fabric
- Scissors
- Glue Gun & Hot Glue
- Power Drill
- Blanket/Pet Bed/Pillow

Now, let’s take a look at the steps in making the dog teepee bed.
The first step in making this dog bed is to carefully drill holes in the top of each dowel. You can go just about 3 inches down. We’re drilling the holes so that we can wrap the twine through so you get that teepee shape. Drilling is much safer and makes the construction sturdier than just wrapping the twine around the dowels.
Our next step is to use the twine to intertwine into each of the dowels. When you are happy with how your teepee looks and everything is in the place where you want them, tie a knot at the end of the twine. See the picture below.
Arrange the dowels how you want them and tie the twine around the dowel 10-15 times. It’s important that everything is secured.
Now you’ll need the fabric because the next step is to drape the fabric around the dowels. You are going to do that right under where the twine is. Play around with the fabric until you’re happy with how it looks. Also, make sure that there’s not too much extra fabric where the opening will be.
When you like how the teepee looks you can get your hot glue gun and glue the top parts together where the fabric meets.

In order for your dog to be comfortable, you can put pet bedding inside the teepee. You can also put a thick blanket or pillows inside the teepee.
Now the fun part begins! Decorating! You can decorate the teepee however you want or you can leave it as-is if you like the simplistic look!
