This week, the Maui Humane Society in Hawaii brought Mahina, a cat who survived the wildfires last year, back to her family in a heartwarming reunion.
Mahina, the resilient feline, spent 100 days in the burn zone before being discovered by the Maui Humane Society’s Fire Task Force. Through her microchip, her family, who had relocated to Montana, was identified, bringing them immense joy at the news of her survival.
Bringing Mahina back to her “Ohana” was no easy feat, but with the support of the community and the efforts of the Maui Humane Society, she made her journey back home.
Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines played a crucial role in ensuring her safe travel, with a trusted transporter accompanying her from Seattle to Montana.
In a heartwarming update, Mahina’s owners shared that she is thriving in her new environment, enjoying indoor life in Montana and playing happily with her feather toy. They expressed their happiness at having their beloved pet back with them, emphasizing her goofy and loving nature.
