Golden Retriever’s Hilarious Morning Struggle with Alarms Goes Viral

Waking up to the sound of an alarm clock is something most people dread, and it turns out dogs feel the same way. A golden retriever named Bodie has captured the hearts of internet users with his relatable reaction to the dreadful alarm.

When Sophie Bahmani brought Bodie home 18 months ago, she quickly discovered that he is not a morning dog.

Whenever an alarm went off, Bodie would become agitated. Curious to see his response, Bahmani decided to film what would happen if she didn’t turn off the alarm and let it continue.

As expected, Bodie sprang into action, attempting to stop the annoying alarm by pouncing on the phone.

This reaction occurred regardless of the time of day, but Bahmani revealed that Bodie is “most cranky in the mornings.”

After all, who can blame him? Everyone needs their beauty sleep.

“We thought it would be funny to film Bodie’s reaction when we don’t turn off the alarm,”

Bahmani shared.

“My fiancé and I aren’t fans of waking up early, so it seems like he’s inherited that from us.”

Puppies, like Bodie, require ample sleep as they grow and develop. The American Kennel Club recommends that puppies get around 18 to 20 hours of rest within a 24-hour period.

However, as they transition into adolescence and adulthood, they require less sleep and should establish a healthy sleep schedule.

Like many dogs, Bodie would prefer to sleep in and emerge from under his blankets when he’s ready. Unfortunately, that doesn’t work for his owners.

Establishing a sleep schedule helps create a routine for bathroom breaks, mealtimes, and prevents excessive mischief.

Clearly, Bodie isn’t a fan of this idea and would rather hit the snooze button—a struggle we can all relate to. Luckily, Bahmani has a trick up her sleeve to get Bodie out of bed.

When Bodie sees the lights on or the curtains drawn, he knows it’s breakfast time and is instantly ready to start the day.

Social media users have fallen in love with Bodie’s relatable reaction.

Since the hilarious video, showcasing how much he “dislikes the alarm,” was posted on TikTok (@goodboybodie) on January 29, it has garnered over 3.6 million views and 534,000 likes.

Bahmani has been overwhelmed by the response, jokingly stating that it’s “funny to see a dog react the way you really want to react to an early wake-up call.”

The viral video has generated over 900 comments, with many TikTok users applauding Bodie’s perfectly rational response to the alarm.

One comment reads, “I react the same way when my alarm goes off.”

Another person replied, “He’s so relatable.”
