If there’s one breed that can rock a lot of hairstyles, it’s the Poodle! They can wear any style. Even the funniest ones! But we won’t talk about those hairstyles. We’ll take a look at the prettiest Poodle haircuts.
Of course, cutting a Poodles fur isn’t easy. Their coat grows differently. So, you really need a professional to do it. You can’t do it yourself. And you shouldn’t do it yourself. A dog’s fur is not like human hair. If you cut it wrong, you can do long-term damage.
Poodle Haircuts
There are four sizes of Poodles, Standard Poodle, Miniature Poodle, Moyen Poodle, and Toy Poodle. And there are so many options to choose from.

I’ll show you 10 different Poodle haircuts that I love! And I hope you’ll like them too.
1. Teddy Bear Cut
The Teddy Bear cut is the most popular. Your Poodle will look just like a teddy. Especially if you have a brown Poodle. For this style, your groomer will leave the hair on your dog’s face longer and rounded. The rest of the body is cut short.
2. Puppy Cut
The puppy cut is a classic. It’s a simple, natural cut. Your dog’s hair will be trimmed evenly, usually 1 to 2 inches on the whole body. But, you can add your touch to it and change it up a bit. For example, leave the ears a bit longer. Whatever you like.
3. Cupcake cut
The Cupcake cut is not that widely known. But it’s cute! And it’s worth mentioning. With this haircut, your groomer will leave the ears rounded and the head pointy. Like a cupcake!

Now, I know this style looks a bit weird. And it’s not for everyone. But it’s worth a try. Your pooch might look cute!
4. Miami or Pom Pom Cut
The Miami or Pom Pom cut is another classic. This is also a cut that is hard to keep up with. With this cut, your Poodle has Pompoms on its legs, and the rest of the body is short.
Also, the dog also has a topknot and the facial hair is cut short. The base of the tail is shaved so it’s easier to maintain and keep clean.
This is a popular style. Because many people want to keep the “french poodle” style and flair.
5. Princess cut
The Princess cut sounds romantic. Doesn’t it? The goal with the Princess cut is to leave enough hair on the head and on the ears to create a human-like hairstyle. It kind of looks like a bob haircut and fringe.
Besides this, you can leave pom-poms on your Poofles feet and tail. This way they’ll have a softer look.

I like this Poodle hairstyle because it looks very clean and put together. You can even add a little bow on top of your dog’s head which will tie the whole look together.
6. Cozy cut
The Cozy cut or the Winter cut.
This Poodle haircut is perfect for the winter or if you live somewhere cold. It’s easy to maintain and it’s practical. With it your Poodle has longer hair and it’s even all over their body. So, this will protect them from the weather and keep them warm.
Of course, this is not a show cut. So, you won’t be able to impress anyone. But it does what it’s supposed to do.
7. Royal Tail Cut
With the Tail cut, you cut your Poodle’s whole body, except the tail. You can also keep the ears longer. Depending on what you like. With this style, your Poodle’s fur is short all over, but the tail hair is long.
So, the goal is to make it look chic and stand out. You can style the tail however you want. As a pom-pom, long all the way through, or only half.

I am personally not a fan of this style. It’s not hygienic when the tail hair is longer. Because feces can get stuck on it.
8. All over short cut
Short Poodle haircuts aren’t common. You don’t normally see Poodles with very short fur. With this trim, your groomer will cut your Poodles whole body to the same length.
But it’s a practical style with which you’ll avoid knots, tangles, and your dog’s fur will stay clean. It’s also a good option for warmer weather or if you live somewhere hot. This style works for every size of Poodles.
9. Fifth Avenue Cut
The Fifth Avenue Cut sounds fancy, doesn’t it? It doesn’t belong on the typical Poodle haircuts list but it’s elegant.

Your groomer will keep your Poodles fur short all over. But, shave the front knees and style the front feet in a “poof.” They also shape the tail into a pom-pom and keep the ears puffy.
It’s a cute, but practical hairstyle. The fur is kept short enough so it does not get tangled and stays clean.
10. Modern cut
The last style on our Poodle haircuts list is the Modern cut.
This is an elegant hairstyle. It’s aesthetic but it keeps your Poodle’s natural features.
For this cut, your groomer will keep the hair on your Poodle’s body short but accentuate its shape. The fur on its head, ears, and tail are left longer. So, they look fluffy.
This is a great style for everyone who wants that classic Poodle look, but also wants something that isn’t high-maintenance.
